Jared Diamond's Visit To WKU Rescheduled
For February
Bowling Green, Ky. - A visit to Western Kentucky University
by Pulitzer Prize-winning author Jared Diamond has been rescheduled
for Feb. 5, 2002.
Diamond, author of "Guns, Germs and Steel: The Fates of
Human Societies," had been scheduled to visit Bowling Green
this month as part of WKU's Cultural Enhancement Series. Recent
events, however, have forced Diamond to change his travel plans.
He'll speak in Van Meter Auditorium at 8 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb.
5. In his presentation, Diamond explains the broad pattern of
human history on all continents for the past 13,000 years.
The other events in the Cultural Enhancement Series are:
Taylor 2 dance company, 8 p.m. Monday, Feb. 11, at Van Meter
Auditorium.
Doc Watson and Jack Lawrence, performing traditional Appalachian
music with bluegrass, country, gospel and blues, 8 p.m. Thursday,
March 7, at Van Meter Auditorium.
All events are free and open to the public.
