TIP Ceremony To Honor 500 Seventh-Graders
At WKU
Bowling Green, Ky. - The Kentucky Awards Ceremony for the
Duke University Talent Identification Program will be held at
2 p.m. Friday, May 25, at Western Kentucky University's E.A.
Diddle Arena.
Approximately 300 of the 500 Kentucky seventh-graders who have
high ACT or SAT scores will attend the ceremony, according to
Dr. Julia Roberts, director of WKU's Center for Gifted Studies.
"The young people being honored have scored at or above
the average for college-bound seniors on one section of one of
those exams," Dr. Roberts said.
The keynote speaker for Friday's ceremony will be Lois Adams-Rodgers,
deputy commissioner of the Kentucky Department of Education.
The Duke Talent Identification Program has conducted the Duke
Talent Search for 21 years. The Kentucky Awards Ceremony has
been held at Western for 19 years.
