Southern Kentucky Concert Band Prepares For
8th Season
Bowling Green, Ky. - The Southern Kentucky Concert Band is
preparing for its eighth Twilight Concert Series.
The community band will perform from 7 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursdays
from June 7 to July 26 at the Basil Griffin Park amphitheater.
Rehearsals will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesdays from May 29 to July
24 at the Western Kentucky University Band rehearsal hall.
The Southern Kentucky Concert Band provides an opportunity for
lifelong music making for residents of Bowling Green, Warren
County and surrounding communities, according to John Carmichael,
co-conductor.
The band is open to all adults who play band instruments. High
school students may participate if their band director recommends
them.
Concert themes include the annual John Philip Sousa show, a Celtic
celebration, holiday pops and a visit by composer Robert Sheldon.
