WKU Police Officer Graduates From FBI National
Academy
Bowling Green, Ky. - Sgt. Gordon Turner of Bowling Green,
a 10-year veteran of the Western
Kentucky University Police Department, recently graduated from
the 205th session of the FBI National Academy.
Sgt. Turner was among 264 law enforcement officers from all 50
states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico, 24 international
countries, three military organizations and four federal civilian
organizations who graduated from the academy June 8 at Quantico,
Va.
Internationally known for its academic excellence, the FBI National
Academy program offers 10 weeks of advanced legal, investigative,
management and fitness training for selected officers having
proven records as professionals within their agencies. On average,
these officers have 19 years of law enforcement experience and
usually return to their agencies to serve in executive-level
positions.
FBI academy instructional staff, special agents and other staff
members provide training during the program. FBI Director Louis
J. Freeh was the principal speaker at the graduation ceremony.
