WKU Agriculture Field Day Scheduled For Aug.
2
Bowling Green, Ky. - Agriculture research and activities
at the Western Kentucky University farm will be on display during
an Agronomy Field Day Aug. 2.
The field day at WKU's Agriculture Research and Education Complex
will show recent work with new types of plants, new systems of
pest control, use of poultry litter for fertilizer, garden plots,
intensive rotational grazing of alfalfa and other types of pasture
and warm season grasses.
Visitors also will see more than 80 corn and 40 soybean varieties
tested this summer along with turfgrass research, dairy and beef
herd research, the wetlands and other farm activities.
Agronomy Field Day activities begin at 4 p.m. at the L.D. Brown
Agricultural Exposition Center. Agronomy tours and general farm
tours are scheduled from 4:15 to 7 p.m.
