WKU Forensics Team Competes In Texas Tournament
Bowling Green, Ky. - Seven members of the William E. Bivin
Forensic Society at Western Kentucky University finished sixth
in overall sweepstakes at a combined tournament in Austin, Texas.
The University of Texas at Austin and Bradley University Swing
Tournament included 33 of the nation's top universities in the
Jan. 12-15 competition. Western was fourth in the team sweepstakes
at the UT-Austin portion of the tournament.
Individual winners were:
Shadana Dickerson, an Adairville junior, first in prose,
semifinals in poetry, third in individual sweepstakes and second
in duo with Margaret Au at the UT-Austin portion; and
second in prose, fourth in overall sweepstakes and semifinals
in dramatic interpretation at the Bradley portion.
Amy Jones, a Morehead senior, first in communication analysis
in the UT-Austin event and fifth in persuasion, third in communication
analysis, 10th in individual sweepstakes and semifinals in impromptu
in the Bradley portion.
Keith Blaser, a sophomore from Evansville, Ind., semifinals
in poetry in both events.
Margaret Au, a freshman from Evansville, Ind., second
in duo with Dickerson at the UT-Austin portion and semifinals
in prose at the Bradley portion.
