WKU Forensics Team Third In California Tournament
Bowling Green, Ky. - The William E. Bivin Forensic Society
at Western Kentucky University finished third last weekend at
a 73-team tournament in San Diego.
Western scored 88 points to finish behind California State at
Long Beach and
Northern Arizona University at the Point Loma Nazarene University
Sunset Classic.
Individual results from the Feb. 3-4 event were:
Amy Jones, a Morehead senior, first in persuasive speaking,
first in informative speaking, sixth in poetry and third in individual
sweepstakes.
Sarah Sparks, a Morehead junior, semifinals in Lincoln-Douglas
Debate.
Melissa Vincent, a Bowling Green freshman, first in novice
informative speaking and fifth in persuasive speaking.
Phillip Wininger, a Bowling Green junior, fifth in informative
speaking and semifinals in extemporaneous speaking.
Raegan Gibson, a freshman from Evansville, Ind., third
in novice rhetorical criticism and quarterfinals in Lincoln-Douglas
Debate.
David Wilkins, a Bardstown junior, fourth in impromptu
speaking.
Corey Alderdice, a Water Valley freshman, semifinals in
duo with Katie Tyree,
a freshman from Plymouth, Ind.; and semifinals in impromptu speaking.
Drew Allen, a freshman from Brentwood, Tenn., semifinals
in duo with Tyree.
