WKU Wind Ensemble
To Tour Area
Bowling Green, Ky. - The nationally renowned Western Kentucky
University Wind Ensemble will be touring through western Kentucky
and southern Indiana on March 8 and 9.
The ensemble will perform at Christian County, Lone Oak, Paducah
Tilghman, F. J. Reitz and Henderson County high schools. The
concert most accessible to the public and alumni will be at 8
p.m. March 8 at the Paducah Tilghman High School Auditorium.
The concert is free.
The program will feature music by Sousa, Ives, Rudin, Stamp,
Gould, Wood, Cichy and others. Two WKU faculty soloists will
perform on the concert. Dr. Daniel A. Paprocki, professor of
clarinet and saxophone, will play the Solo de Concours by Messager,
and Kenneth Haddix, professor of trombone, will present the Morceau
Symphonique by Guilmant.
Other concert times include: Christian County High School, 8:45
a.m. March 8; Lone Oak High School, 12:45 p.m. March 8; F.J.
Reitz High School, 10 a.m. March 9; and Henderson County High
School, 1:45 p.m. March 9.
