Kirwan Receives WKU Communication
Graduate Award

Bowling Green, Ky. - Western Kentucky University graduate student Donna Kirwan has received the Pelino Graduate Award from the Department of Communication.

Kirwan, a native of Lewisburg, completed a baccalaureate degree in corporate and organizational communication and has been a graduate assistant in the Department of Communication while working on her master's degree.

The $1,000 award, presented Oct. 19 at the department's annual Alumni and Friends Dinner, recognizes a graduate student who has potential to sustain a high profile career in organizational communication.

The award was established several years ago by WKU communication graduate Daniel Pelino, who is group vice president of Global Sales and Support for IBM Technology Group.
