Leader In Forensic Engineering Firm To Visit
WKU
Bowling Green, Ky. - Members of a leading forensic engineering
firm will visit Western Kentucky University April 20 for a daylong
presentation.
The presentation by Failure Analysis/Exponent Engineering is
being made possible through the William A. and Joyce R. Bell
Excellence Fund for Civil Engineering Lecture. The presentation
is free and open to the public.
The firm investigates engineering failures as well as medical,
environmental, biomechanics and human tragedies. The firm's projects
include an analysis of the John F. Kennedy assassination for
the American Bar Association, an analysis of the Titanic disaster
and an analysis of the Exxon Valdez spill.
"The Bell Lecture will enhance the civil engineering
program at Western," said Matt Dettman, civil engineering
professor. "This program will provide an interesting
day of presentations from both an engineering standpoint as well
as a human interest standpoint."
Representatives from the firm's Chicago and Los Angeles office
will deliver the presentation. The event is scheduled for 8 a.m.
to 4:30 p.m. April 20 at the auditorium of the Carroll Knicely
Institute for Economic Development, WKU South Campus.
For reservations or information, contact the WKU Engineering
Department at (270) 745-2461. The deadline for reservations is
April 17.
