Global Automotive Conference 2000
Scheduled
Bowling Green, Ky. -- The Global Automotive Conference
2000, sponsored by Western Kentucky University and co-sponsored
by leading automotive companies, will be held March 28-30 at
the University Plaza Hotel and Convention Center in Bowling Green.
GAC 2000 is a must-attend conference for managers in all departments
and is an excellent means to acquire essential survival skills
needed for the highly competitive, ever-changing, global automotive
industry. In addition, the event provides networking opportunities
with all levels of management from the automotive industry.
The program features sessions on E-commerce, modular integration,
supply chain management, strategic alliances and international
trade issues. Speakers from automakers and Tier 1 suppliers will
present their firms' strategies and give insight on how they
manage the obstacles they have encountered and the action taken
to implement efficient and effective solutions.
Highlighting the conference will be the Supply Chain Management
Simulation that will allow all participants to learn from each
other by working and solving problems side by side.
Bowling Green, located in the heart of a rapidly growing center
for automotive activity, has become a "little Detroit"
leading to major economic growth potential for the region. With
the proposed Kentucky TriModal Transpark, a modern industrial/business
park with an international class airport as the centerpiece,
WKU Office of Global Business and Entrepreneurship plans to be
a valuable partner and resource for the industry.
