WKU Forensic Team
At Bradley University
Bowling Green, Ky. -- The William E. Bivin Forensic
Society at Western Kentucky University placed third in the overall
sweepstakes competition at Bradley University.
Twenty-one of the nation's top forensic schools competed in the
Jan. 14-17 event in Peoria, Ill. Western finished behind Illinois
State and Kansas State.
Individual results are as follows:
Amy Jones, a Morehead junior, placed fourth in after-dinner
speaking, third in communication analysis, fourth in informative
speaking and made the semifinals in impromptu.
Andrew Chamberlain, a freshman from Franklin, Tenn., placed
second in after-dinner speaking.
Keith Blaser, a freshman from Evansville, Ind., placed
fourth in dramatic interpretation, third in duo interpretation
and made the semifinals in poetry.
Matt Gerbig, a senior from Evansville, Ind., placed third
in duo interpretation.
Shadana Dickerson, an Adairville sophomore, placed sixth
in poetry, first in programmed oral interpretation and made the
semifinals in poetry and dramatic interpretation.
Shellei Knuckles, a Florence junior, placed fifth in poetry.
Wesley Shirley, a Hodgenville senior, made the semifinals
in persuasive speaking.
Jace Lux, a senior from Evansville, Ind., made the semifinals
in prose and dramatic interpretation.
Alisa Ponananta, a Florence sophomore, made the semifinals
in prose.
Sarah Sparks, a Morehead sophomore, made the semifinals
in impromptu.
Stephen Barnett, a Versailles senior, made the semifinals
in dramatic interpretation and poetry and placed fifth in persuasive
speaking.
Kelly Burchell, a senior from Kearney, Neb., made the
semifinals in persuasive speaking.
Phillip Wininger, a Bowling Green sophomore, placed fifth
in communication analysis.
