WKU Scholarship Will Benefit
Dawson Springs Students
Bowling Green, Ky. -- A new scholarship at Western
Kentucky University will honor a Dawson Springs woman and benefit
students from the Hopkins County town.
The Flora Lanham Ford Berry Scholarship Fund has been established
by her sons William Ford, a 1952 WKU graduate, Norman H. Ford
and Bobby Joe Ford. The fund will be used for two scholarships
awarded yearly to full-time students at Western.
One scholarship will be awarded to a senior at Dawson Springs
High School or a WKU student who graduated from the school. The
second scholarship will be awarded to a high school senior or
a returning WKU student who is a direct descendant of Flora Lanham
Ford Berry. If no descendants apply, the scholarship will be
awarded to a Dawson Springs student.
The initial $550 scholarships will be awarded for the academic
year beginning with the summer or fall semester 2001. For information
about the scholarship, contact Andy Wagoner, assistant director
of admissions, at (270) 745-2551.
