Rural Sociologist To Speak At WKU

Bowling Green, Ky. -- Dr. Albert E. Luloff, a rural sociology professor at Penn State University, will deliver two lectures Thursday at Western Kentucky University.

Dr. Luloff, who received the Rural Sociological Society's Excellence in Research Award in 1997, will speak on "Managers Perceptions of the Impact of the National Park Service Recreation Fee Demonstration Program" from 11:45 a.m. to 12:45 p.m. in Downing University Center, Room 305.

Dr. Luloff will discuss "A Fifty-Year Overview of Changes in the Amish Communities of Lancaster County" in his second presentation from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. in Downing University Center, Room 226.

He serves as editor of the Journal of the Community Development Society; treasurer-secretary of the International Rural Sociology Association; and a member of the Board of Advisors for the International Symposium on Society and Resource Management.

Dr. Luloff's visit to WKU is sponsored by the Department of Sociology, Potter College Dean's Office and the Department of Agriculture.
