Bowling Green, Ky. -- An estimated 14,118 students are enrolled at Western Kentucky University for the Spring 2000 semester, according to Registrar Freida Eggleton.

The preliminary enrollment figure, released today to the Council on Postsecondary Education, is nearly 3 percent above the 1999 spring enrollment of 13,720, Eggleton said. Final official figures will be available in late March.

Eggleton said enrollment is up in most areas of the University, most significantly in graduate studies, the Bowling Green Community College and at the extended campuses. She said the increase also includes more than 50 students enrolled in WKU courses offered through the Kentucky Virtual University.
