WKU JumpStart Seminars© 2013-2014 for National Board Candidates
WKU JumpStart Seminars© is an intense three day workshop for new candidates. Facilitators provide guidance to candidates on the major aspects of the NBPTS certification process, such as interpreting standards, documented accomplishments, videotaping, forms of writing, ethics, the three content entries, assessment center preparation, organization and format. Candidates work with others in the same certificate area (if available) and hear from NBCT's who have “been there.” The goal is that when candidates leave, they have the confidence to move forward using the tools provided for them, developed a network of fellow candidates, have rough drafts of entries, and a plan of action to complete the process.
The WKU JumpStart Seminars© seminars are sponsored by Western Kentucky University. WKU
has been proudly serving candidates through WKU JumpStart Seminars©, monthly meetings,
Assessment Center Workshops, and Reading Entry review sessions since 2001. Renewal
Workshops are also available.
The workshop will consist of 3 days of support. Workshops will be in Bowling Green on the WKU campus. Each participant will receive a copy of A ToolKit for Success 3rd ed. (Hines, Miller, and Wright).

- A third day for the WKU JumpStart Seminars© will be held in January or February. The exact day will be determined during the initial workshop so as to accommodate all candidates.
