The Department of Modern Languages will offer a 1-Day Oral Proficiency Interview Familiarization Workshop for teachers of world languages on Saturday, August 16, 2014 from 8:00 – 3:30 on the WKU Main Campus, Ivan Wilson Fine Arts Center room 264, in Bowling Green.

 

Who should participate?

This one-day workshop is an introduction to the ACTFL Proficiency Guidelines, ACTFL Rating Scale, and the ACTFL Oral Proficiency Interview. The workshop is for teachers of any world language at any level who want to improve instruction and assessment in world languages. The workshop will also help teachers prepare their students to meet WKU's new Colonnade Program language requirement of Novice High.

 

Who is the presenter?

Dr. James Wilkins, professor of French, is an experienced, certified trainer for the American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages.

 

What does it cost?

The fee is $35 and includes materials, lunch and a teacher gift. The deadline to register is August 8th. To reserve your spot, register by sending your contact information (name, school, mailing address, email, phone) and a check made out to WKU to:

Will I get PD credit?

The Department will issue a certificate to those who complete the workshop, indicating 6.5 hours of PD.
