All first time students should take the on-line placement examination in French, German, or Spanish if they have studied the language previously and intend to continue that study at Western. The examination may be accessed at the Placement section. Students who place into a course above the first semester (101) level and successfully complete that course with a “C” or better may then gain three to six additional hours of credit upon payment of a fee.
