The Math Course Student-Placement Chart *
Students can easily use the below displayed Mathematics Placement Chart as a  "guide" in determining eligibility to register for certain mathematics courses.  It is emphasized that IN ADDITION to satisfying the MATH ACT and MPE scores displayed in the Placement Chart, the High School Requirements noted below must also be satisfied; additionally, certain High School Math Course Performance Levels must also be satisfied as detailed in the Mathematics Placement Criteria appearing in the presentation frame following the illustrations located below these charts.

* This table was provided under the auspices of Suzanne Britt and Linda Fitzpatrick.

ILLUSTRATIONS: --
(1) Imagine that Student-1 has the following scores:  MATH ACT=19 and MPE=15.
Now, follow down the chart entries under column figure #19 until reaching
row figure #15 to find  [Math 116].   Next, inspect the High School Requirements
noted in the requirements list below the table ."  Note that the course entry
[Math 116]
indicates a requirement of  "Two years of high school algebra," as well as the
given MATH ACT and MPE scores.

(2) Imagine that Student-2 has currently completed Math-116 with an grade of  "C."
Now, inspect the  Current Course  chart:  follow down the chart entries under
column label  "Math 116 / Math116E" until reaching  "row label C."  There are seen       entries [Math 117/119].  Hence, Student-2 is eligible to register for Math-117 or Math-119.
