Position Description

Kath Pennavaria joined the Department of Library Public Services as the Glasgow Campus Library Coordinator in October, 2000.

  • Supervise Glasgow Campus Library services and personnel, including 3 student assistants and 3 part-time employees
  • Offer general and specific reference service, including bibliographic instruction and faculty/student orientation
  • Do collection development for the primarily undergraduate programs offered on the Glasgow campus
  • Collaborate with Extended Campus Librarian to assure campus quality service to extended campus students
  • Supervise and maintain of library stacks and records
  • Supervise circulation, computer operations, and copy machine procedures
  • Do collection development for Music, which includes a systematic review and assessment of the current collection
  • Attend regular meetings of the Glasgow Campus staff
  • Serve on WKU Libraries and University committees as asked by the dean
  • Publish relevant research in areas of scholarly interest
  • Present original material at professional meetings
Research

Research interests include library history and the role of librarians as teachers.
