Note: Postcard manufacturers attracted buyers with a wide
variety of novelty items, utilizing materials such as leather,
wood, metal, bamboo, Irish peat moss, and celluloid. Often
the novelty cards were decorated with fabric inserts, buttons,
feather or tinsel. The retail price of most leather postcards
was five to ten cents each, slightly more than standard cards. |
