Item/Collection Note: The first private (not government issued) postal cards in the U. S. were copyrighted by J. P. Charlton for use in advertising. Today companies continue to use post cards to tout their wares and services. On this card the Louisville company advertised "both phones 2207", referring to the Louisville Home Telephone Company and rival Cumberland Telephone & Telegraph Co.
