Prints and Engravings
Sketch makers and engravers became the eyes of the war for the public as they produced prints that appeared in almanacs, broadsides, pamphlets and books, periodicals and newspapers or were printed on finer materials to be hung as works of art in many homes. The Kentucky Library's print collection includes representative examples of the types of prints produced to portray and present the many sides of the Civil War conflict.
