Chameleon Springs Spa
Kentucky Library Broadside Collection # S26 (Chameleon Springs Edmonson County, Kentucky Springs)
Chameleon Springs was a popular spa in Edmonson County, Kentucky. This broadside advertises a grand ball to be held to open the summer season of 1902. Visitors, who might stay overnight or for several months, generally departed from the railroad station in Smiths Grove (Warren County, Kentucky) and take a one-hour ride to the spa, a distance which today can be covered in approximately 15 minutes. Chameleon Springs boasted a large hotel of typical "spa" design with all the doors opening to the outside of the building. This particular spa boasted "a fine bowling alley and every accessory for pleasure…[and] a beautiful lake for boating and bathing."
