Promoting Glasgow, Kentucky
Kentucky Library Broadside Collection #S1270
The fledgling Glasgow Chamber of Commerce sponsored a "Good Will Tour" to communities in Barren and other surrounding counties to promote the products and services that Glasgow entrepeneurs could provide visitors to their fair city. This 1931 tour was similar to projects carried out by other Chambers of Commerce throughout the country. The Bowling Green Chamber called their trips "Booster Trips", and they were made on barges or steamboats up the Barren and Green rivers. Other communities utilized the railroad. Glasgow’s tour also featured the musical entertainment of the 123rd Cavalry Band.
