This
site originally conceived in late 1995 and maintained until
now by Terry J. Smith. It is now updated and maintained by
the Western Kentucky University Libraries' Web KERA Group.
The creation of the site has been a response to the absence
of any kind of centralized Internet resource library containing
information about the Kentucky Education Reform Act (KERA).
A general frustration over unpreparedness and disconnection
to other young education professionals in Kentucky school
systems prompted the creation of this site. Although this
site does not purport to solve these problems, it is hopeful
that such a resource will serve to help as much as it realistically
can.
Hopefully also that this site
will provide useful information to parents of KERA-educated
students; to students (and others) performing research into
KERA; and, generally, to anyone interested in education reform
in Kentucky and elsewhere.
Creators of the site are not
directly affiliated with the Kentucky Department of Education
or any Kentucky school system. The purposes in creating and
maintaining the site were and are solely voluntary and philanthropic
in nature. Please see the disclaimer

of the site.
Although updates are irregular,
we do strive for consistent maintenance.
