  • National Center for Education Statistics (NCES)
  • Condition of Education
    "The Condition of Education is an annual report to Congress which focuses on 60 indicators, representing a consensus of professional judgment on the most significant national measures of the condition and progress of education at the time, but tempered, necessarily, by the availability of current and valid information."
  • Digest of Education Statistics
    The Digest of Education Statistics provides a compilation of statistical information covering the broad field of American education from kindergarten through graduate school. The Digest includes over 400 tables from many NCES and other data sources.
  • Education Statistics Quarterly
    The Quarterly gives a comprehensive overview of work done across all parts of NCES. Each issue includes short publications, summaries, and descriptions that cover all NCES publications and data products released during a 3-month period. To further stimulate ideas and discussion, each issue also incorporates a message from NCES on an important and timely subject in education statistics; and a featured topic of enduring importance with invited commentary.
  • Indicators of School Crime and Safety, 2002
    This report, the first in a series of annual reports on school crime and safety from the Bureau of Justice Statistics and the National Center for Education Statistics, presents the latest available data on school crime and student safety. The report provides a profile of school crime and safety in the United States and describes the characteristics of the victims of these crimes.

  • NCES Products: Electronic Catalog and On-line Library
    Find information about and locate all NCES publications and data products. You may also browse the content of publications or download data files.
  • National Assessment of Educational Progress
    Since 1969, the National Assessment of Educational Progress, also known as "the Nation's Report Card," has assessed the academic performance of fourth, eighth, and twelfth graders in a range of subjects.
  • Projections of Education Statistics
    This publication provides projections for key education statistics. It includes statistics on enrollment, graduates, classroom teachers, and expenditures in elementary and secondary schools and institutions of higher education.
  • School District Data Book Profiles
    This site provides access to demographic data for all U.S. school
    districts derived from the Census 2000. Use this data to obtain a demographic profile for your selected school district or prepare a comparative demographic profile
  • Social Statistics Briefing Room: Education
    The purpose of this service is to provide easy access to current Federal economic indicators. It provides links to information produced by a number of Federal agencies. All of the information included in the Economic Statistics Briefing Room is maintained and updated by the statistical units of those agencies. All the estimates for the indicators presented in the Federal Statistics Briefing Rooms are the most currently available values.
  • Statistical Abstract of the United States
    As the National Data Book it contains a collection of statistics on social and economic conditions in the United States. Selected international data are also included.
