Central hall was started in the fall of 1962, and ready for occupation this fall. The magnificent new dorm for men is located on the campus behind West and South Halls. The towering new structure is eleven stories tall and houses 412 men. Two elevators and two sets of stairs run up and down providing two way access to the floors.

Twenty-four rooms house 48 men on each floor. Each room is spaciously arranged to provide adequate room for clothes, sleep, study, and movement. Each room has an intercom connecting the desk in the lobby to the room, thus eliminating much unnecessary runningn up and down the stairs and elevator. Each boy has his own mail box to prevent mix up in the mail. Telephones are on every other floor starting with the first floor.

The lobby is modernly furnished and spacious. The desk located in the lobby has all the conveniences of a hotel lobby and it is the responsibility of the 10 counselors and the two dorm directors.

All in all it is the best dorm on the campus -- facility wise. If you enjoy lounging in an air conditioned penthouse apartment, looking out over the town, you would enjoy living in Central Hall. As one boy said who lived on the tenth floor "It sure was nice living in this dorm, until the elevator stopped."
