History - The 3-story building was funded through an $18.5 million grant from the state. It houses the departments of Journalism, and the Information Technology. The facility was to include electronic classrooms, electronic photojournalism labs, a 24-hour computer lab and a 250 seat auditorium. The building is one of the most technologically advanced building on campus. [New Gateway to Tomorrow, Spring 2000] When bids came in for the original plans, they were 25% more than what the budget had allotted. New plans were drawn up and 105,000 square feet were cut back to 94,355. A three story connector space that would have joined Mass Media and the Academic Complex were also cut from the plans. The building was dedicated on Friday Oct. 22, 2004.
