Cherry Hall, Room 101

The Center for Robert Penn Warren Studies, established in 1986, honors Kentucky's native son for his worldwide literary achievements and his dedication to education.
  • Robert Penn Warren Seminar: Each spring semester the English Department offers a Robert Penn Warren seminar (Eng. 498 & 498G) for graduate and undergraduate students. The three hour credit course provides an intensive study of Warren's poetry, fiction, and non-fiction.
  • Robert Penn Warren Awards: The English Department awards an undergraduate scholarship and a graduate fellowship to qualified students for study of Warren's writing.

  • Robert Penn Warren Symposium: An annual symposium each April attracts Warren scholars from across the nation. Renowned speakers highlight the event, which is open to the public.
  • Robert Penn Warren Room: Established in the English Department by the Robert Penn Warren Committee, the handsome room provides space for classes, lectures, seminars and RPW Committee and advisor's meetings.

  • The Robert Penn Warren - Cleanth Brooks Award: The annual Warren-Brooks award was established by the Warren family to honor an outstanding work of literary criticism that embodies the spirit, scope and integrity of the work produced by Warren and his frequent collaborator, Brooks.
