2012 Kentucky Engagement Conference

Poster Sessions

Guidelines for Posters

Content: A display should focus on one or more engagement activities that involve your campus in the community. The display can describe the activity, include photographs, drawings, or charts related to the activity, and include anything else that will help people to understand the engagement activity and its impact.

Poster tips: We recommend that your poster include a display; the display may include a poster, tri-fold, or table-top piece that describes your exhibit. Please keep in mind the following:

(1) Be sure to clearly identify the name of your college/university at your table;

(2) To facilitate readability, use size 16 or larger, plain fonts (not script or ornate);

(3) Limit the amount of text on the poster and supplement it with a handout;

Additional materials: It is strongly recommended that you provide a handout about the project(s) you are highlighting. A handout can include more detail than will fit on the poster, and people can read a handout at their leisure. Be sure to provide a contact person so visitors to your poster can obtain more information about the project.

Conference will provide: For each display, the conference center will provide a six foot (6'x6') table with two chairs. A sponsor may have up to two tables for multiple exhibits.

Size of posters/displays: You are limited to what will fit on a six foot table. As you plan your display/poster, please remember that you will need to transport it.

What you need to bring: In addition to bringing your display and accompanying handouts, you are welcome to bring a table drape and promotional items to promote your college/university.

Staffing the display: Staffing is required at poster displays during the designated Poster Session hour on the schedule. Anyone staffing a display must be registered for the conference which then enables the person to participate in all aspects of the conference, including meals and concurrent sessions.

Set up time and tear down time: Displays can be set up any time after 1:00p.m. on November 8th. All displays should be set up prior to the beginning of the poster session time from which is scheduled for 2:20p.m. on November 8th. Displays must be removed by 4:30pm. on November 8th.
