WKU graduate Al Cross receives SPJ’s highest honor

The Society of Professional Journalists, the nation’s largest and most broad-based journalism association, awarded Western Kentucky University graduate Al Cross the 2011 Wells Memorial Key. Cross was a member of the team awarded a Pulitzer Prize in 1989 for its coverage of the nation’s worst bus and drunk driving crash on the Ohio-Kentucky Border in 1989.
Brad Pfranger, assistant professor of broadcasting has been elected to the National Press Photographers Association Board of Directors. Pfranger replaces Mark Dolan, who was elected NPPA’s vice president.
