Desktop Video Conferencing refers to a service that allows information to be shared with varying remote locations simultaneously across various geographical locations using your desktop computer. It is applicable for a variety of collaborative events, including meetings and class sessions. 

Often times desktop video conferencing is referred to as web conferencing, webinar, webcast, online workshop or electronic meeting systems (EMS).
