Computer Repair

Students and employees may both have their computers repaired by the IT Division - but the method for repair is different for students and employees.  Please see the sections below for information about these methods.

ResNet

ResNet provides personal computer repair services to all Western Kentucky University students. Provided services include hardware diagnostics and repair, software troubleshooting, network support, virus and spyware removal, and system rebuilds. The ResNet office is staffed during normal university business hours. Service may be obtained by contacting the IT Helpdesk, or coming to the ResNet office located on the third floor of Mass Media and Technology Hall.

Desktop Support

Desktop Support provides hardware and software technical assistance with university owned, computers that meet minimum standards for support. Desktop Support also provides warranty support for Dell brand computers that are covered by a valid parts and/or labor warranty, and hardware support for printing and imaging devices meeting minimum standards for support. Desktop Support only services university owned hardware, generally indicated by the device having a WKU inventory asset tag attached. Service may be obtained by contacting the IT Helpdesk.

Helpdesk Summer Hours
The IT Helpdesk summer hours (running May 14 thru August 12) are Monday thru Friday 7:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. and Saturday noon to 8:00 p.m.
Front Desk Relocation
During construction on Mass Media and Technology Hall third floor (starting May 14), the Technical Support Services front desk serving ResNet and Desktop Support will be located outside of MMTH 314.
