WKU Safe Communities America Report

Online Degrees / Programs

U.S. Immigration regulations require ALL international students to maintain full course load (12cr for undergrad and 9cr for graduate) while school is in session (fall and spring semesters). Additionally, international students must be enrolled in a minimum number of credit hours each semester in which instruction is carried out face-to-face (9cr hours for undergraduates and 6cr hours for graduates). Therefore, international students will not be eligible to receive form I-20 nor secure F-1 visa for an online degree program. International students may enroll and complete an on-line program while they are remaining in their HOME country without a need to receive an I-20 form, obtain F-1 visa, nor enter the United States. Programs that require students to take online courses should consult with the Office of International Student and Scholar Services (ISSS) before admitting international students.
