TurningPoint Clickers Information

Clickers are a technology for interaction in the classroom, where an instructor presents questions on the screen and each student responds using a small remote device. TurningPoint integrates with your PowerPoint Presentation and receives audience feedback and interaction.

Introduction to TurningPoint
The TurningPoint system uses a radio frequency (RF) USB receiver that can accomodate up to 1,000 clickers and, unlike infrared (IR), does not require line-of-sight transmission. The TurningPoint clicker is robust and small (about credit card size). The receiver simply plugs into a computer's USB port.

WKU Standardization Agreement
By setting a single product as our campus standard, we greatly simplify the process for any faculty member wishing to set up a class to use clickers. We also do a great favor to Western students, who will be able to get clickers at standardized discount prices, buy one clicker and keep it for multiple classes, and sell used clickers back to the WKU Bookstore.

Training
TurningPoint training is mandatory for all faculty members using clickers. We are now offering TurningPoint training online through Blackboard as well as in a traditional classroom setting. Contact Brian Taylorfor more information. To view training videos on TurningPoint please visit the TurningPoint Clicker Video Tutorialswebsite.

Bookstore Ordering
Faculty members will order clickers using the online Textbook Adoption form. If entering your clicker order in the Book 1 section, you must type "Clickers" in every field. Otherwise, the form will not submit. If entering your clicker order in the Book 2 section, just type "Clickers" in the title field.

Faculty members must place all clicker orders with the WKU Bookstore by April 1st if clickers will be required for use in Fall semester classes; March 15th for Summer term classes; October 15th for Winter term classes; and November 1st for Spring semester classes. Students will be charged $37.50 per clicker at the WKU Bookstore.
