Department of Educational Telecommunications
Welcome to the Department of Educational Telecommunications at Western Kentucky University. The staff of Educational Telecommunications support public service, provide access to professional training, create content and distribute content in many unique ways to serve the university and the citizens of Kentucky. We are responsible for the operation of: Western’s Public Radio, WKYU-PBS, The Hilltopper Sports Satellite Network, The university’s two CATV systems, and the International Journalism and Media Management Training Program. In addition, we provide video production services for the campus constituency and outside organizations. Our professional staff excels and takes great pride in providing these electronic media services. In addition, we employ many Western students part-time, allowing them to gain valuable real-world experience working with professionals who provide them valuable mentoring and professional development.
