Email Account (also know as LDAP account)

All Faculty, Staff and Students are issued a university email account.  Email accounts for employees (Faculty and Staff) are created automatically when HR enters new employee information into BANNER.  Student email accounts are created when a new student enrolls in classes, (not just admitted, but enrolled). 

Email accounts are "authenticated" though something called LDAP.  Your email account ID and your LDAP account ID are the same and the password is the same.  You use your LDAP/email account ID to login to other applications at WKU besides email such as Blackboard (Ecourses).  You need to protect your email/LDAP password and keep it secure.
