Support:
As all new technologies undoubtedly do, wireless networking presents several new challenges to the user community. Current wireless technologies are unfortunately just not as fast and reliable as a wired network and should be viewed as a flexible supplement to wired networking technologies.
The ideal situation is that nothing will ever go wrong when using the wireless network, but it is almost inevitable that at some point something will not work as expected. The potential problems users might face are numerous, and when they happen, support needs to be readily available to assist in troubleshooting and fixing those problems as soon as possible.
All applicable Information Technology personnel will undergo specific training targeted at raising their experience and skill level with the new wireless technologies that are being deployed.
If you are using the WKU Wireless network and are experiencing problems, you might first want to check the Getting Connected page found on this site. That page provides several details and guidelines designed to aid in making the use of the wireless network as easy and reliable as possible. If you are still experiencing problems, you might want to contact the helpdesk at 270-745-7000. A support technician will get a case started and begin the troubleshooting process.
*Note* Depending on the exact nature of the problem, it could take just a few minutes to fix or potentially considerably longer. Please be patient with the process and know that it is being cared for as quickly and efficiently as possible. If, at any time, you feel the need to follow up on an existing case, please contact the helpdesk to inquire on the current status. Please remember to retain the Case ID that was created when you initiated the help request. It will greatly help expedite any inquiries on your case.
