Welcome to Student Telephone Service
We provide comprehensive telephone service to over 5000 resident students as well as to over 13000 commuter students. Our on campus staff can provide you with access to long distance, calling cards, cellular service and additional features such as: voicemail, call waiting and cellular connect. About Student Telephone Services
Student Telephone Services is committed to meeting the telephone needs of all Western Kentucky University students, faculty, and staff. Every on-campus residence hall room is provided with, at no additional cost, a custom calling package that includes: basic dial tone with unlimited local calling, call waiting, three-way calling, and auto call back. Optional services available include: cellular service, long distance, voice mail, calling cards, wake-up call, and cellular connect. Telephones are not provided in any of the residence hall rooms. The student can either bring a touch-tone phone of their choice with them or they can purchase one at the STS office.
Cellular Service
We have partnered with Cingular to provide our students with convenient, affordable, and reliable cellular service. "Just one more perk of being a Hilltopper."
Hilltopper Long Distance
WKU offers its students a low cost, convenient way to make long-distance calls. The cost of Hilltopper Long Distance is $0.10 per minute; anytime, any day, and anywhere within the United States (calls made to international locations are subject to our competitive international rates). Voice Mail
We offer individual voice mail for a fee of $20.00 per room per semester. This fee can be split between roommates. Please follow the Voice Mail menu link for more information.
Hello Hilltopper Calling Card
The Hello Hilltopper Calling Card provides a convenient and affordable way to call long distance from anywhere. A flat rate of $0.12 per minute is charged based on usage only. No taxes. No surcharges. No hidden fees. Please follow the Hello Hilltopper Calling Card menu link for more information.
Wake-Up Call
No alarm clock, no problem...just ask for a wake-up call. We offer this special service so that you never have to be late for class again. Please see the Wake-Up Call menu link for more information.
Cellular Connect
Cellular Connect allows calls to your room to ring your room phone and your cellular phone at the same time. STS offers this service at an affordable cost of $5.00 per month so that you never have to miss that important call again. Please see the Cellular Connect menu link for more information.
