Student Technology Center Services
General Lab Assistance
All general use labs are staffed by Lab Consultants. Lab Consultants are available to answer questions about lab equipment and printing, as well as troubleshoot technical problems. They are not allowed to help with homework assignments or answer questions about software not maintained on Student Technology Center computers.
Printing
Laser printing is free, up to the amount of your free printing allocation for each year. For details, see the Lab Printing page.
Color printing is available in the Grise 335, Helm 205, MMTH 141, TCCW 204 and South Campus lab. It costs 50 cents per page. We only accept Big Red Dollars.
Scanners
Scanners are available at each Student Technology Center. Work stations with scanners are reserved for scanning use only. If you have questions about how to use the scanner, please ask a Lab Consultant. Click here for scanning instructions.
Laptop Station
Laptop stations are provided in most Student Technology Centers. Network cables are provided for your use. Printing, however, is not available from the laptop stations at this time.
ADA Accessibility
Each Student Technology Center is equipped with ADA compliant work stations. Specialized software such as JAWS and Read & Write Gold are available. When necessary, patrons will be asked to relocate so that the ADA work station may be used by patrons who need to use it.
Macintosh Computers
Macintosh computers are available for use in the MMTH Lab (nine Macs) and several other lab locations. Click here for the list of Macintosh software..
Graduate Student Lab
The graduate student lab, located in EST 345, is a dedicated computing facility open for use by any WKU graduate student. This facility offers quiet working environments for graduate students.
