WKU was awarded the Operation P.R.I.D.E. Chairman's Award on Sept. 16th for contributions to the Bowling Green roundabout project at U.S. 31-W/Nashville Road and University Boulevard. WKU Chief Facilities Officer Bryan Russell accepted the award. Operation P.R.I.D.E. is a local non-profit organization dedicated to recognizing enhancements and innovation in our community.
Nearly 1500 students attended the Majors and Minors and Study Abroad Fair held Sept. 16. The event, co-sponsored by the Academic Advising and Retention Center and the Office of Study Abroad and Global Learning had over 80 majors, minors, faculty-led study abroad programs, and academic offices present.
WKU graduate student Armin Smailhodzic of Bowling Green has gained national attention for his development of a smartphone app that uses Twitter data to track the outbreak and predict the spread of the Ebola virus. The Ebola Project app is part of Smailhodzic ‘s master’s thesis in the Homeland Security program in WKU’s Department of Physics and Astronomy. Click image for full story.
