Intramural-Recreational Sports Director
Steve obtained his Bachelor of Science in Health and Physical Education and his Master of Science in Education Administration from the University of Southern Mississippi. Steve has 30 years of experience in Recreational Sports and is a certified Recreational Sports specialist. Prior to arriving on the WKU campus, Steve served as the Associate Director of Recreational Sports and an Instructor in the School of Human Performance and Recreation at the University of Southern Mississippi. He was also the Director of Campus Recreation at Baylor University. As a member of the National Intramural Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) he has received the Regional Award of Merit, National Service Award, and the Horace Moody Award. He serves on the NIRSA Service Award and Region II Student Excellence committees. He is also a charter member of the National Collegiate Flag Football Hall of Fame. Steve's wife, Von, is a graduate of WKU and is currently an Adjunct Faculty member in the Department of Recreation at WKU.
Becky graduated from Western Kentucky University in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science in Social Work and minor in Business Administration Management. After twenty years in health care, Becky decided to return to "the hill" in 2003 to work in the Office of Admissions. Becky joined the Intramural-Recreation Sports Department in October 2005. In her spare time Becky loves to travel, exercise, and spend time with her husband Gary.
Brad Stinnett currently serves as Assistant Director, Facilities in the WKU Department of Intramural-Recreational Sports. Prior to his current position, Stinnett served as the Department's Facility Coordinator. Stinnett's primary responsibility is managing the 126,000 square foot Raymond B. Preston Health & Activities Center on WKU's campus.
Stinnett is an active member in the National Intramural-Recreational Sports Association (NIRSA) and has served on the Facility Management Committee, Annual Conference Host Committee, and has been the Kentucky State Director for NIRSA. Stinnett has also presented at several state workshops and assisted in the planning of numerous NIRSA related events.
On campus, Stinnett has served on over a dozen University Committees and currently serves on the Campus Partners Committee and WKU Football Game Day Operations crew. Stinnett has also taught courses for the Department of Kinesiology, Recreation and Sport. Off campus, Stinnett volunteers in the community by coaching youth sports for Warren County Parks & Recreation and with the Upward Program.
A Hardinsburg, Kentucky native, Stinnett earned his Bachelor's and Master's degrees from WKU and is currently enrolled in the WKU/University of Louisville Cooperative Doctoral Program. He and his wife, Denise, have three children, Savannah (7), Cade (6) and Caroline (1).

Assistant Director, Health & Fitness
Todd obtained his Bachelor of Science in Physical Education from the University of Saskatchewan. Prior to leaving Canada he was employed as an occupational rehab specialist. He began his employment at WKU in March 1998 as the Exercise Specialist in the Health & Fitness Lab in the Preston Center. In August 2001 Todd became the Assistant Director, Health & Fitness and obtained his Master's in Public Health from WKU in 2002. He is a father of two, enjoys most sports, and is an avid exerciser. "Go, Steelers!"
Luke came to WKU from the University of Northern Iowa in January of 2004. He works as the Assistant Director of Programs. He currently oversees the Outdoor Recreation Adventure Center (ORAC), Intramural Sports, Sports Clubs, Athletic Complex, Challenge Course, Summer Camps, and the Bike Shop. Luke enjoys gardening, cooking, riding, playing with his little daughter, and tending to his bees while not at work. He tried his hand at growing giant pumpkins but that didn't work out too well, just ask him.
Sean came to Western Kentucky University in 2008 from the University Northern Colorado. While there he obtained his Bachelor of Science in Sport and Exercise Science in 2006, and his Master of Science in Sports Administration in 2008. Sean enjoys all types of golf, hanging out with good people, and he is an avid sports fan, especially Denver sports.
Jennifer obtained her Bachelor of Science in General Studies with an emphasis in Math and English from Western Kentucky University in 1997. She began her employment in January 1998 as an Assistant Hall Director at WKU. After completing her Masters in Student Affairs and Counseling Services in May of 2001, she became a Facility Coordinator at the Preston Center. She enjoys officiating football, basketball, and softball. Jennifer also plays Women's Professional Football for the Tennessee Heat in the Women's Football League. "Get them Heat!!"
Cory obtained his Bachelor of Arts degree in Mathematics from the University of Texas at Austin with a minor in Psychology. While in school he worked at the Gregory Gymnasium on campus as a Lifeguard, Head Guard, and Program Assistant. He has been a certified lifeguard for 9 years and a water safety instructor for 12 years. He is now the Graduate Assistant for Aquatics while pursuing a Master's Degree at WKU in Recreation and Sports Administration. He enjoys basketball, independent film, video games, and most especially Ultimate Frisbee. Hook 'em!
Ellen obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Northern Iowa in Finance with a minor in Leisure, Youth and Human Services. While in school she worked at the Wellness and Recreation Center on campus as a Facility Manager and Program Assistant. She is currently certified as a Lifeguard Instructor and a Certified Pool Operator. After graduation she worked at the University of Texas at Austin as a Program Assistant in the Texas Swim Center. She is now the Graduate Assistant for Facilities while pursuing a Master's Degree at WKU in Recreation and Sports Administration. Her hobbies include cycling, water skiing, canoeing, backpacking and playi ng euchre.
Alissa received her Bachelor of Science in Education with a concentration in Exercise Science from the University of Tennessee at Martin. After gaining experience in corporate wellness Alissa applied her talents to the higher education side of Recreation & Health and Fitness. In February 2004 she began her employment at WKU as the Fitness Coordinator in the Health & Fitness Lab. As the Fitness Coordinator Alissa has the joy of leading the Fitness and Instructional Programs. In her spare time she enjoys traveling, playing golf, and spending time with her daughter Molly.
Jarka obtained her Bachelor's Degree in Leisure Studies from Palacky University in the Czech Republic and a Master's Degree in Exercise and Health Studies from Miami University, Oxford, OH. Prior to working at the Western Kentucky University, Jarka held positions as a Health & Fitness Specialist in a corporate wellness center and a Personal Trainer in the Fitness Clinic in Indianapolis, IN. She is ACSM Certified Personal Trainer with a passion for dogs and both indoor and outdoor recreational sports.
Jessica Bagwell earned her Bachelors of Science degree in Exercise
Science with a minor in Nutrition from WKU in May of 2009. During her
undergrad, Jessica worked as an intern in the Health and Fitness Lab and
as a Group Fitness Instructor. She is currently pursuing her Masters of
Public Health degree with a concentration on health education. She is
serving as the Graduate Assistant for Student Wellness in the Health and
Fitness Lab. Jessica enjoys reading, watching movies, playing with her
new puppy, being outside, and watching football! Go COLTS!!
Justine earned her Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science in May 2009 from Towson University in Baltimore, Maryland. During her undergraduate studies, Justine was able to gain experience in multiple areas of campus recreation and is now the Graduate Assistant of Fitness here at WKU. She is currently pursuing a Master's degree in Recreation and Sports Administration and enjoys sports, reading, meeting new people, and exploring her new home of Bowling Green.
Sabrina graduated from Western Kentucky University in 2005 with a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Anthropology. She spent four years
working with a Campus ministry on WKU’s campus before coming on staff as the Office Associate for the Health and Fitness Lab. Sabrina loves
spending time with her husband, large dog and fat cat. She enjoys reading, cooking, playing tennis, organizing things and playing games
with friends.
Ben received his bachelor's degree in Wellness, Health Promotion, and Injury Prevention with a concentration in Exercise Science in 2008 from Oakland University. He is currently working the Health and Fitness Lab as the Graduate Assistant of Exercise. He is also pursuing a Master's degree in Exercise Science. Ben recently got married this summer. Ben and his new wife enjoy living in Bowling Green.
Jordan obtained her Bachelor of Arts in Broadcasting in 2003 and her Masters of Science in Recreation and Sports Administration in 2007 from WKU. She previously worked as the Sport Club Graduate Assistant from 2005-2007. Upon finishing her Master's she served as the Assistant Director for Sport Clubs and Summer Camps at Purdue University. Jordan returned to WKU in the fall of 2008 to serve as the Sport Club Coordinator. She is an outdoor enthusiasts, enjoys traveling, and is excited to return to the Hill.
Chris is originally from Woodbridge, New Jersey. He attended undergraduate school at Rowan University, where he received his Bachelor's degree in History with a min or in Philosophy. While at Rowan, he worked in the Intramural and Fitness departments. Currently, he is working his fifth year in the recreation field while pursuing his Master's degree in Rec and Sport Administration. He is an avid New York sports fan and enjoys any outdoor activities.
Dan orginally hails form LaGrange, KY. He graduated from WKU with his undergraduate degree in Recreation Administration in 2009. He is currently pursueing a graduate degree in the the field Sport and Recreation Administration. If his free time, Dan enjoyes biking, running, and hunting. His true passion though to is to help others discover more about themselves through personal challenges.
Brian received his bachelor's degrees in Political Science and History from Texas State University in 2008 and worked as a sport clubs supervisor. He is now pursuing a Master's degree in Recreation and Sports Administration and is the graduate assistant for sport clubs. Brian enjoys participating and watching all sports, rea ding novels, and listening to live music.
Amanda received his Bachelor of Science in 2009 from the University of Northern Iowa. As an undergrad she was employed by UNI Outdoors running the program. In August 2009 she moved to Bowling Green to pursue a Masters degree in Recreation and Sport Administration. She is currently serving as the graduate assistant for ORAC. Amanda enjoys climbing, cycling, paddling, and hiking during her freetime.
