ORAC offers rentals of several items for current students, faculty, and staff. To view a picture and brief description of each rental item click on the item name below. Three rental lengths are available to our patrons: day rentals are due back the following weekday between 12pm and 6pm, weekend rentals are picked up on Friday (12-6) and due back on Monday (12-6), and weeklong rentals are due back on the seventh day (12-6). Rentals are subject to tax for Faculty and Staff. Reservations are recommended for most camping and canoeing gear, especially during the spring and fall seasons. To reserve gear stop by the ORAC office and fill out all appropriate paperwork, make full payment for the gear, and set up a time to pick up the gear during our office hours. Reservations are non-refundable. Please review the rental form below to ensure that you understand our rental policies and procedures before you rent any gear. Canoe Package

Our canoe package is available for day, weekend, or weeklong rental. The package includes one canoe, 2 personal floatation devices (PFD), and 2 paddles. We have available red Appalachian canoes with woven seats, or green Tripper canoes with plastic seats. Rentals do not come with straps for hauling; please bring rope or straps to secure the boat.
2 Person Tent

Kayak Package

Our kayak package is available for day, weekend, or week rental. The package includes the kayak which comes in 4 different sizes for a more personal fit. They are labeled 2 Fun, 4Fun, Fun, and Super Fun. The package also includes a PFD, paddle, helmet and a spray skirt. Straps and/or rope is not included. Please bring your own for securing the vessel.

Sleep cozy and comfy throughout the year with ORAC’s choice of summer and winter sleeping bags. We offer Mountain Hardwear Flip bags which feature two different sides, one rated at 25 degrees and the other at 40 degrees, letting you adjust for the night’s weather. And for those extra chilly evenings we offer The North Face Cat’s Meow, rated at 20 degrees. Sleeping bags include a stuff bag and can be rented for a day, weekend, or week.
