Yarmouk FM Production Training
March 10– 15, 2007
Kevin Willis undertook a multi-part training session starting at Yarmouk FM.
Local programs are the heart of yarmouk FM. The news and information service must be consistent, reliable and trusted by the audience. The daily programs must meet both high technical and content standards. The Yarmouk FM staff and students need to master program production skills with the Yarmouk FM equipment to produce this level of programming on a consistent basis. Kevin Willis conducted a five-day consultancy in program production and programming strategies at Yarmouk FM.
March 17– 19, 2007
At AutoStrad, Kevin Willis conducted a three-day consultation of program production. He worked with the Autostrad team to improve the program production and provide training on how to serve the local community through the various program formats selected by Autostrad.
Yarmouk Curriculum Development Session
March 13 – 23, 2007
Dr. Pam Johnson, Director of Western Kentucky University’s School of Journalism and Broadcasting, traveled to Jordan to facilitate curriculum development at Yarmouk University. The session is part of an ongoing effort by WKU to help strengthen the capacity of journalists to report on issues of interest and importance. During the visit, Johnson worked with faculty in the Journalism and Mass Communications Department to develop new courses and modify current ones to help prepare the students for a career in media. The specific goal was to create the master plan to reinvigorate the radio curriculum in order to meet the new challenges and opportunities of the Jordanian broadcast industry. This workshop completes a series of training and installation sessions undertaken in Jordan and in Bowling Green and is the culmination of more than a year of work between the IJMMT and Yarmouk University. Unfortunately the team was too busy to capture the action in images.
