I teach UC 175 University Experience, IDST 399 Special Topics courses, and the IDST capstone courses.
My background includes work on critical thinking, the American South, food studies, college athletics, and the history of Christianity. I also chair the Freshman Assembly committee which plans a welcoming ceremony for each incoming class in the fall.
I am a lifelong Kentuckian, born and raised in Hudson, Kentucky (Breckinridge County), and was a first-generation college student. I graduated from WKU in 1999 and completed a master's degree (MA Education) from WKU in 2001. I accepted a full-time instructor position that fall and am in my eleventh year of teaching at WKU. In addition to teaching, I enjoy running marathons, reading, writing, cooking, and spending time with my wife and two children.
