WKU offices in Bowling Green will open at 10 a.m. Friday. Classes Friday remain canceled and campuses in Glasgow, Owensboro and Elizabethtown/Ft. Knox remain closed Friday. Saturday classes in Bowling Green will proceed as scheduled. Here is a link to the University’s attendance policy during adverse weather conditions. Use caution and watch for slick spots on roads and walks. 

Residence Halls remain open until noon Saturday. Bemis & Barnes have space for those who need to stay longer. Visit WKU Housing & Residence Life for more information.

The High Performance Computing Center (HPCC) is located at the Lost River Data Center in the WKU Center for Research and Development (

System Overview

The HPCC provides high quality 24/7 support of the computing needs at WKU and the collaborating scientific community.

The HPCC has a total of:

405 computing nodes

14,272 GB of RAM

264 TB of disk storage with tape backup

The HPCC will support 8944 simultaneous computational processes.

The system runs on RedHat Enterprise Linux

HPCC Mission

The mission of the WKU High Performance Computing Center (HPCC) is to support research, collaborations, and the educational mission of WKU.

By supporting cutting edge research and developing a strong experienced workforce, the WKU HPCC will attract and sustain intellectual capital in the region.

HPCC members and a trained workforce will foster economic development by interacting with local and regional industries and the scientific community.
