Students explored many aspects of Ecuadorian agriculture. They visited plaintain farms, pineapple farms, palm oil production facilities, and seafood production areas. The aim of this trip was to highlight cultural differences while also exploring the impact international agriculture has on American agriculture. In addition, students participated in a service project by applying dental sealant to children in public schools and orphanages.

Cory Dodds, a junior political science major, traveled on this trip. "This trip was intellectually and personally challenging. It was great to be able to work with the kids and help to improve their living conditions. Dr. Coffey and Mrs. Guffey are wonderful instructors, and I can't wait to go back."
