Honors College at WKU

A group of 11 other students took a course on Modern China in the best place to do so: China, itself.

In 21 days the students traveled from Hong Kong and Shenzhen then moved from Guangzhou to Wuhan, and from Wuhan to Nanjing, Hangzhou, Shanghai, Tianjin, and Beijing. In that short time, the students visited those 9 cities while taking interactive classes in each one lead by Haiwang Yuan.

The students used a book written by Dr. Yuan as the class text and went about learning about culture, history and customs within China through hands on learning methods. They visited many valuable historical sites and learned about their significance to Chinese society and culture as well as became accustomed to the lifestyle.
