My Role in the Honors College

I help Lindsey Westerfield with the many projects she takes on, from creating and gathering content for brochures and websites, to helping recruit potential Honors College and study abroad students.

Educational Background

I graduated from Reidland High School with Honors in 2008. I’m majoring in news/editorial journalism with a minor in history and planning to graduate in 2012.

Hometown

Paducah, Kentucky

Hobbies and Interests

When I’m not in class, at work, or doing something related to one of the two, I can be found reading a historical fiction novel (my favorite), listening to all kinds of music, drawing, crafting, writing or playing soccer. I absolutely love reading, writing and history, and my ultimate goal is to become a novelist.

What Brought me to the HC

I actually have no epic tale of why I decided to join the Honors College; I simply saw the application online my senior year and thought I should maintain my attempts at high-achievement by joining. It was the second-best decision of my college career, and the first was choosing WKU. I honestly can’t imagine what my college experience would be like without the Honors College. Through the HC, I made my closest friends, decided to study abroad at Harlaxton College in England, got a wonderful job that truly makes me look forward to work, and all the while I’ve been surrounded by great staff and a great community of students who have the same ambition as I do.

A Little About Myself

I virtually never have nothing to do, whether it’s class, work, homework, writing for the yearbook, organizing groups or events, or enjoying a meal with friends. I love staying busy, especially with the Honors College. It’s a hectic lifestyle but I wouldn’t have it any other way!
